Youtube download
Using this little shell-tool, you can load videos found on youtube easily on your hard disk. Nevertheless you still need a flash player, e.g. Automatix. and the VLC Media Player.
Also the Handling is foolproof: After downloading from www.arrakis.es/~rggi3/youtube-dl, you set it with chmod +x Dateiname as executable. By using ./youtube-dl.py -o Dateiname.flv URLzumVIDEO in the directory of youtube-dl.py, you start downloading.
There are further options, but listing them here would be too much. You can take a look at all options at www.arrakis.es/~rggi3/youtube-dl.
