    Using this little shell-tool, you can load videos found on youtube easily on your hard disk. Nevertheless you still need a flash player, e.g. Automatix. and the VLC Media Player.
  • Compiling programs by yourself

    If for a program doesn't exist any precompiled package but the source code is available, you seemly have to compile the source by yourself. It's a bit more complex but therefor the compiled program is well adapted for your system.
  • Installing the FRITZ!WLAN Stick under Ubuntu

    After I heard today that AVM finally released a linux-driver for the FRITZ!WLAN USB-Stick, i did as a owner of such a stick the test. Actually the drivers are designed for openSUSE 10.2, but they say it works with Ubuntu as well. I wanted to test this and that's my result:

    As I wanted to create a document for the school in the spring of this year there was a problem for me. In the demands was written that we have to use the font \'Times New Roman\' which was installed unfortunately not by default on my Ubuntu system what didn\'t surprise me very much because this font is by Microsoft.
